On August 6, 2020, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited St. Aphrem Church in Achrafieh to inspect the damage caused by the blast at Beirut Port.

His Eminence Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Archbishop of Beirut, and the clergy of the Archdiocese received His Holiness. His Holiness inspected the damage in the church and prayed the teshmeshto of the saints seeking the intercession of Mor Aphrem. His Holiness and His Eminence took a tour of the premises and examined the material loss in the building.

His Eminence Mor Theophilus George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, was present and His Holiness was accompanied by Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, and Very Rev. Raban Cyril Babi, Director of the Legal Department.
