On August 10, 2020, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Mor Aphrem Youssef Abba, Syriac Catholic Archbishop of Baghdad and Patriarchal Vicar of Basra and the Arabian Gulf, and Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Syriac Catholic Church, and Very Rev. Fr. Aphrem Semaan, Elected-Bishop and Patriarchal Vicar of Jerusalem, the Holy Land and Jordan, and Very Rev. Fr. Habib Mrad, General Patriarchal Curator and Secretary of the Syriac Catholic Patriarchate, at the Patriarchal Residence in Atchaneh, Bikfaya – Lebanon.

The meeting was attended by their Eminences: Mor Theophilus George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Tripoli, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Archbishop of Beirut, Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar and Administrator of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, and Very Rev. Raban Cyril Babi, Director of the Legal Department.

During the meeting, Fr. Aphrem Semaan invited His Holiness to his episcopal consecration.
