On December 24, 2020, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the Holy Qurobo for Christmas Eve in St. George Patriarchal Cathedral in Bab Touma – Damascus.
His Eminence Archbishop Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, celebrated the Holy Qurobo. His Eminence Archbishop Mor Anthimos Jack Yacoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education also attended.
In his sermon, His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury spoke about Christmas and the Maggi who came searching for the wonder child. He added that we are also seeking to meet the Lord and receive Him among us. Hence, he encouraged all to be prepared to receive the joy of Christmas and meet the Lord through our fellow Christians.
During the Qurobo, Christmas procession was performed. At the end of the Qurobo, His Holiness blessed the faithful and wished them a Merry Christmas.
