On February 21, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II attended the reception held in honor of Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs on the occasion of his installation.

The reception was also by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar in the Archdiocese of Eastern USA, Mor Maurice Amsih, Archbishop of Jazeera and Euphrates, and Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education

At the beginning of the reception, Very Rev. Fr. Zuhri Khazaal welcomed all and His Eminence Archbishop Matta Al-Khoury thanked them and spoke about his happiness to be returning to his hometown to serve the flock entrusted to him. He promised that he will walk in the footsteps of his predecessor Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh. He assured all that he will cooperate with them for the good and development of the city and its people. He also showed enthusiasm to be serving the people of Homs and Syria.
