On May 16, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met the Syriac Scouts of Syria at Mor Aphrem Monastery in Maarat Saydnaya at the closing of the first gathering of the Syriac Scouts of Syria.
Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Anthimos Jack Yacoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, and Mor Yacoub Babawi, Patriarchal Vicar for Monks Affairs and the Administration of Mor Aphrem Theological Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya, were also present.
The scouts welcomed His Holiness and the accompanying delegation and gave a brief report on the activities that they did during the gathering. They explained that they spent some effort to set a unified musical curriculum for the scouts as well as unifying other aspects of their activities like parades and performances in public functions. They also shared their views and aspirations with His Holiness seeking his blessing and support. His Holiness blessed their work and hoped that the scouts will always be a source of positivity and energy. He assured them that the patriarchate will continue to support their activities and help them reach their goals.
At the end of the meeting, His Holiness presented the participants with a certificate of participation.
