On August 13, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency the Charge d’Affaires of the Serbian Embassy in Syria Mr. Milano Vijatovic, at the Patriarchate Headquarters in Bab Touma, Damascus. The visit of His Excellency came at the end of his mission in Syria.During the meeting, His Holiness wished His Excellency the best in his next diplomatic mission and expressed his appreciation for the support of Serbia to the Syrian people. They also discussed the current situation in Syria and the effects of the pandemic on the economic and social life of the people.Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, Mor Boutros Kassis, Patriarchal Assistant, Mor Cyril Babi, Patriarchal Vicar for the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, were also present in the meeting.
