Holy Qurobo at St. Shmouny Church in Bordeaux

On October 30, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Shmouny Church in Bordeaux, France. He was assisted by their Eminences Archbishops: George Kourieh, Patriarchal Vicar in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, as well as Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, who attended the Holy Qurobo. In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the rock of faith which is the strong belief in the mercy of God which was revealed in Jesus Christ in His life on earth. His Holiness assured that faith is not a matter of large quantities and crowds of people for Christ did not bring armies to spread faith and preach salvation; rather, He chose simple people to be His disciples and to go forth in the entire world and preach the Gospel. He pointed out to the faithful parishioners that they are the small flock which is special in its solid faith in the Lord; he encouraged them to remain steadfast in the apostolic faith and traditions which we received from our forefathers, in order to preserve our oriental Christian identity.
