Holy Qurobo in Mor Jacob of Serugh Church in Hama

On October 17, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at Mor Jacob of Serugh Church in Hama.He was assisted by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.His Excellency Nicolas Baalbaki, Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Hama, attended the Holy Qurobo.In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the teachings of the Pharisees which is devoid of love, while our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us love and compassion. He expressed his joy to visit the parish of Mor Jacob of Serugh in Hama, especially during the celebrations of the 1500 jubilee of this great saint. He also spoke about the historical presence of the Syriac people in Hama and their role. He blessed the work of the community and encouraged them to remain united and to collaborate with their Archbishop for the growth and development of the community. At the end of the Holy Qurobo, His Eminence Archbishop Matta Al-Khoury welcomed His Holiness and thanked him for his visit which is a great blessing to the city and its people.
