Holy Qurobo – Mor Severius Church in Coubron

On October 24, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at Mor Severius in Coubron, France.He was assisted by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor George Kourieh, Patriarchal Vicar in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs,, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the time before the second coming which is a recurrent theme in the readings of the general sundays, i.e. the sundays that follow the Feast of the Cross and precede the Sunday of the Consecration of the Church. His Holiness explained that the life of a person on earth is filled with deeds which reflect the reality of his faith in eternal life. He encouraged the faithful to seek virtues and to be merciful, for this is part of the spiritual exercises that allow them to grow spiritually. He emphasized that the love of one’s neighbor is one of the most important bases of faith which show the depth of the holy teachings and their influence in our lives. At the end, he blessed the faithful and wished them good health, success and prosperity for the parish, praying for the rest of the souls of the departed ones.
