On November 25, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the Funeral Service of Rev. Fr. Petros Bernard, at Mor Antonios Monastery in Charleroi – Belgium.He was assisted by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor George Kourieh, Patriarchal Vicar in Belgium, France and Luxembourg, Mor Dioscoros Benjamin Atas, Patriarchal Vicar in Sweden, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director as well as the clergy of the parishes in Belgium.In his eulogy, His Holiness spoke about the role of the priest in administering the sacraments and teaching the members of the community the doctrines of the church as well as the Christian values. He spoke about the real home of the priest being the heavenly abodes for which he works during his entire life. At the end of the service, His Holiness offered his condolences to the members of the family of Fr. Petrus.
