On December 30, 2021, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II arrived to Cairo. His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, delegated His Eminence Anba Clemandos, General Bishop, Rev. Fr. Sergius General Vicar of the Patriarchate, and Dr. Guirguis Saleh, to receive His Holiness at Cairo International Airport. Rev. Raban Philipos Issa, Parish Priest in Cairo and Mr. Elias Shahrestan, President of Parish Council, also received His Holiness at the airport.He was accompanied by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs and Interim Patriarchal Vicar in Egypt, Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, and Dr. Elias Halaby.
