By returning to ourselves, we can focus on the cross of our Lord that teaches us humility and self-sacrifice. His Holiness pointed out to the prayer of our Lord when He asked His disciples to stay awake with Him and pray but they could remain awake. Likewise, the Church calls us to remain awake spiritually. His Holiness also explained the symbols of the parable of the ten virgins, especially the wise whose lamps were lit with the oil of virtues.
