On May 9, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II inaugurated the church hall in Merky which was named: Ignatius Aphrem II Hall in honor of the first apostolic visit of his Holiness to the church.Their Eminences: Mor Timotheos Moussa Al-Shamani, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Mor Matta Monastery, Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Archbishop of Mosul, Kirkuk, Kurdistan and Environs, Mor Yacoub Babawi, Patriarchal Vicar for the Affairs of Monks and the Administration of Mor Aphrem Theological Seminary, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, also attended the inauguration.
