Inauguration of the 12th General Assembly of the MECC

On May 16, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II presided over the inauguration session of the 12th General Assembly of the MECC, along with the Presidents of the MECC, at the Coptic Logos Center in Anba Bishoy Monastery – Egypt.His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II delivered an opening speech in which he spoke about the role of the churches in the Middle East in witnessing for Christ despite the persecutions and difficult times we are living in. He also spoke about the aspirations that the council should have to help in the promotion of Christian ministry to all. Their Holinesses Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, and Catholicos Aram, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, and their Beatitudes: Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Patriarch John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Patriarch Youssef Absi, Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Patriarch Theodoros II, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria, Cardinal Mar Rafael Louis Sako, Patriarch of the Chaldeans and All Iraq, Patriarch Ibrahim Isaak, Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria, Patriarch Rafael Bedros XXI, Armenian Catholic Patriarch, Rev. Habib Badr, President of the MECC for the Evangelical Family of Churches, and the General Secretary of the MECC delivered speeches.
