On July 24, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo, at the end of the Suryoyo Youth General Gathering, with the presence of the youth who participated in SYGG, at St. Mary Church in Atchaneh – Lebanon.
Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, and Mor Chrysostomos Mikhael Shemoun, Patriarchal Vicar and Administrator of the Patriarchal Benevolent Institutions in Atchaneh, assisted His Holiness in the Qurobo.
Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Archbishop of Beirut, Mor Dionysius John Kawak, Patriarchal Vicar in the Archdiocese of Eastern USA, Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Archbishop of Mosul, Kirkuk, Kurdistan and Environs, Mor Severus Roger Akhrass, Patriarchal Vicar for Syriac Studies and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, were also presented.
In the sermon, His Holiness hoped that the spiritual talks and other social activities in SYGG would strengthen the spiritual lives of the participants and improve their ministry in the church. He pointed out that evangelization is part of every Christian’s duty and responsibility, whether on a personal level or in his ministry in general. While commenting on the readings for the day, His Holiness emphasized that true witness for Christ is in our faithfulness to our evangelical mission; on the other hand, becoming a stumbling stone for others is a great sin. He then spoke about spiritual growth in the life of Christians to reach perfection. He called the youth to continue their efforts to apply what they learned and to be more diligent in their ministries. He stressed that the relationships that were built in this gathering will continue and he hoped that they will continue to suport each other and the service of the church.
