In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about repentance which is the focal point of the Christian’s life. He pointed out that our Lord Jesus Christ walked with sinners and was near those who were not accepted by the religious leaders to preach to them about the kingdom of God and to call them to come near God and return to Him. He added that the interpretation of the Pharisees rendered the law as a burden on the faithful which became slavery instead of liberation. They were always surprised at the Lord Jesus because He sat with the tax collectors and sinners. However, we learn from Chrisr that humility is the fruit of love. His Holiness warned the youth from falling into the sin of condemnation of others based on appearances, falling into the sin of pride and the feeling of self-righteousness. At the end of his sermon, His Holiness addressed the youth to answer the call of the Lord to holiness through repentance; this will be revealed by the good deeds which people will see and give praise to the Lord Who is pleased by our salvation.
