On November 27, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Dr. Bassam Sabbagh, Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations, at the Patriarchate Headquarters in Bab Touma – Damascus.
The meeting was attended by his Eminence Archbishop Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
During the meeting, His Holiness spoke with His Excellency about the current situation in Syria on the local and international levels. They also spoke about the impact of the sanctions on the Syrian people.
