On December 9, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II arrived to Erbil in a private visit for the inauguration of Meltho International School.
His Holiness was received at Erbil International Airport by their Eminences: Mor Nicodemus Daoud Sharaf, Archbishop of Mosul, Kirkuk, Kurdistan and Environs, and Mor Timotheos Moussa Al-Shamani, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Mor Matta Monastery, and their Excellencies: Mr. Pishtwan Sadek, Minister of Endowments in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Mr. Khalid Talia, General Director of the Christian Affairs in the Ministry of Endowments.
He was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury and a Delegation of Clergy from the Archdiocese of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs.
