Meeting of the Catholic Patriarchs and Archbishops of Syria

On December 1st, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II participated in the Ecumenical session with the Heads of Churches in Syria, within the meetings of the Council of the Heads of the Catholic Churches in Syria, at the Headquarters of the Maronite Archdiocese, Damascus. Their Beatitudes Patriarchs: Mor Ignatius Youssef III Younan, Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Patriarch John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Patriarch Youssef Absi, Greek Catholic Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, as well as the Archbishops in Syria, were also present in the meeting.

His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director, and Very Rev. Raban Andrawos Bahhi.

In his inaugural speech, His Holiness spoke about the suffering of the Syrian people and the efforts that all churches are doing to support the people during this crisis. His Holiness also encouraged more cooperation among the churches to offer better ministry for the faithful and a true witness of the Christian faith in the society.
