On December 6, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met His Excellency Mr. Tristan Azbej, Hungarian State Secretary for the Aid of the Persecuted Christians, accompanied by Mr. Bertalan Kiss, at the Patriarchal Center in Budapest.
His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Archbishop of Homs, Hama, Tartous and Environs, was also present.
During the meeting, His Holiness discussed with His Excellency the different projects that are executed through the support of Hungary Helps. His Excellency also spoke about the cooperation with the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate and the help offered to the persecuted Christians in Iraq,Syria and throughout the Middle East.
