On December 20, 2022, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Dr. Samir Al-Rifai, Ambassador of Palestine in Damascus, at the Patriarchate in Bab Touma.
The meeting was attended by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Anthimos Jack Yakoub, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, and Patriarchal Delegate to the Archdiocese of Jerusalem, Jordan and the Holy Land, and Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.
His Excellency congratulated His Holiness on the occasion of the Feast of Christmas and conveyed to him a letter containing the greetings of the President of Palestine Mr Mahmoud Abbas on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year. He also discussed with His Holiness the current situation in the Middle East.
