On January 13, 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received a delegation from different national Syria parties, at the Patriarchal Headquarters in Bab Touma – Damascus.

Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Assistant, Mor Andrawos Bahhi, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, and Mor Augeen Al-Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary, were also present.

‏During the meeting, His Holiness discussed with the delegation the current situation in Syria, and they expressed their points of view and aspirations for the new Syria. They spoke about the changes that are happening in Syria and the necessity to live according to the principle of citizenship where all the citizens of Syria enjoy the same rights and responsibilities.
