On August 28, 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Mr. Veysi Shahin, Head of the Municipality of Midyat and Mr. Mehmet Kaya, Qaimaqam of Midyat, at Mor Gabriel Monastery.
Ttheir Eminences Archbishops: Mor Timotheos Samuel Aktas, Archbishop of Turabdin, Mor Philoxenus Yusuf Cetin, Patriarchal Vicar of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, Mor Dioscoros Benjamin Atas, Patirarchal Vicar of Sweden, Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Assistant, and Mor Youhanon Lahdo, Archbishop of Sweden and Scandinavia, attended the meeting.
Their Excellencies welcomed His Holiness and spoke about the historical importance of Midyat as well as its contributions to civilization.
