On September 27, 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II blessed the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of St. Barsawmo Church in Toronto.
His Holiness congratulated His Eminence Archbishop Mor Athanasius Elia Bahi, the parish priest and the parish council for the occasion. He emphasized that a parish survives many challenges and can only continue to be a living witness for Christ if it remains united in faith and ministry.
Their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Athanasius Elia Bahi, Patriarchal Vicar of Canada, and Mor Augeen Al-Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary, were also present.
