On October 20, 2025, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received His Excellency Mr. Raed Saleh, Minister of Emergencies and Catastrophies, accompanied by a delegation, at the Patriarchate Headquarters in Bab Touma – Damascus.
The meeting was attended by their Eminences Archbishops: Mor Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Assistant, Mor Andrawos Bahhi, Patriarchal Vicar for Youth Affairs and Christian Education, Mor Augeen Al-Khoury Nemat, Patriarchal Secretary, and Mr Louay Oussi.
During the meeting, His Holiness and His Excellency spoke about the work of the ministry in helping the citizens during natural disasters. He thanked him for his efforts to offer the services of the ministry to the entire country. They also spoke about the current situation in Syria on all levels and they discussed the ways to strengthen the cooperation between the church and the ministry and to support the initiatives and voluntary work that aims at developing the sense of responsibility of the citizens towards their country.
